Is the plumber licensed in Vaughan?
Vaughan sits in York Region, which does not run its own trade-licence roll, so the provincial register for the trade is the check that matters here. A Toronto business licence means nothing in Vaughan.
Skilled Trades Ontario public register
Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade in Ontario: the person holds a Certificate of Qualification or is a registered apprentice. Practising without one is illegal.

Toronto licenses this trade at the municipal level; the lookup shows whether the licence is active. Pros We Know checks Toronto listings against this roll.

What to check whoever you hire
- WSIB clearance. Free to check, no account needed (check it here). Without it, an injury on your property can become your problem.
- Liability insurance. Ask for the certificate, not the promise.
- A written quote that says what is included, what is extra, and when payment is due.
- Someone you know who hired them. That is what Pros We Know is for.
What to ask a plumber before you hire
- Are you licensed for this work, and can I see the number?
- Is the price for the visit or for the fix, and what happens if the first fix does not hold?
- Will you pull the permit if one is needed (a water heater, a new line)?
- Who have you done this exact job for nearby?
Where they are, inside Vaughan

Why the pros your people use rank first
Pros We Know is not a review site. There are no star ratings and nothing a business can pay for. When you search, the pros your own contacts have used come first, then the ones people in your network trust, then licence-checked businesses nearby. What you see about a pro is who used them and whether they would rehire, from people you can actually ask.
