Agreement. By using Pros We Know (the "app"), operated by ZeroPilot Labs Inc., you agree to these terms.
The service. The app is a private list of the service professionals you trust, with optional sharing between connected users and optional business discovery powered by third-party data. The app is offered free of charge; features may change or be discontinued.
Your content. You own what you save. You grant us the limited license needed to store it and to show what you explicitly share to the connections you approve.
Acceptable use. Don't upload unlawful content, impersonate others, harvest data from the app, or attempt to access other users' private data.
We are a directory, not an agency. Pros We Know helps you find and keep track of businesses — the ones already in your contacts, the ones people you know vouch for, and the ones listed in our directory. We do not employ, engage, endorse, recommend, supervise, license, insure or vet any of them, and we are not a party to anything you agree with them. Listing a business is not a recommendation, and appearing higher in a result is not a judgement about quality. Nothing here can be bought.
What the information is, and is not. Trust statuses, notes and experiences are the personal opinions of the users who wrote them, not statements of fact by us. Business details — names, numbers, addresses, websites, photographs, licence records — come from public sources, from the businesses’ own websites, and from other users, and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Licence badges reflect what a public registry said when we last checked it; they are not proof that a licence is current, adequate for your job, or held by the person who turns up. Verify anything that matters directly with the business and with the issuing authority.
Doing your own diligence is your responsibility. Deciding whom to contact, hire, admit to your home, or pay is your decision alone, and you accept responsibility for it. Before engaging anyone, satisfy yourself about their identity, licensing, insurance, references, pricing and suitability — particularly for a business you found through search rather than through someone you know. The same care you would take with a business found on a map or a search engine applies here.
No warranty. The app and everything in it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate or that any business is competent, licensed, insured, available or trustworthy.
Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZeroPilot Labs Inc. is not liable for any loss, injury, damage, cost or dispute arising out of your dealings with any business found through the app — including work performed badly or not at all, property damage, theft, personal injury, overcharging, or any act or omission of a provider — nor for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits or goodwill. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months or ten Canadian dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or any right your local consumer-protection law gives you that cannot be waived.
Disputes with a business. Any dispute is between you and that business. We are not obliged to mediate, and you release us from claims arising out of it. If a listing is wrong or a business behaves badly, tell us at support@prosweknow.ca — we will look into it, but we cannot resolve the dispute for you.
Termination. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time; we may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
What other people write is theirs. Trust statuses, notes and experiences are created by users. We host and pass them along at their authors’ direction; we do not adopt them, verify them, or make them our own statements. Under section 230 of the US Communications Decency Act and equivalent law elsewhere, we are not the publisher or speaker of what our users write. If something a user wrote about a business is wrong, the person who wrote it is responsible for it — tell us anyway at support@prosweknow.ca and we will look.
Copyright and takedowns. Business photographs, logos and descriptions shown in the directory are gathered from the businesses’ own public websites and remain their owners’ property. If you own a work shown in the app and want it removed, email support@prosweknow.ca with: the work, where it appears in the app, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, and your signature. We remove promptly on a valid notice and will stop collecting from that site. This is our designated agent for notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
You indemnify us for what you do. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ZeroPilot Labs Inc. from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of what you write in the app, how you use it, your dealings with any business you found through it, or your breach of these terms. We may take over the defence of any such claim, and you will co-operate with us if we do.
No automated collection. You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk-download or use automated means to extract the directory or any part of it, or use it to build or train a competing product or dataset. The directory is built at our own expense and is licensed to you for personal use inside the app only.
Disputes with us, and how they are resolved. If you have a problem with us, email support@prosweknow.ca first — most things are settled that way and we ask for 30 days to try. If you live in the United States and we cannot settle it: you and ZeroPilot Labs Inc. agree that any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, and that each of us waives the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class or representative action. Arbitration will be administered by a recognised arbitration provider under its consumer rules, in the county where you live or by telephone or written submission if you prefer. Either of us may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@prosweknow.ca with the subject “Arbitration Opt-Out” within 30 days of first accepting these terms; opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else. Nothing in this paragraph prevents either of us from seeking an injunction to stop misuse of the app.
If part of this fails. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues in force — except that if the class-action waiver above is held unenforceable, the arbitration agreement does not apply to that dispute and it proceeds in court.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you use the app from the United States or elsewhere, nothing here removes a right your local consumer-protection law gives you and cannot be waived — where the two conflict, your local law wins.
